Mondial des Vins Blancs 2025: A Prestigious Competition with a New Chinese Judge

Wine enthusiasts and professionals will gather on April 5 and 6, 2025, at the Palais de la Musique et des Congrès in Strasbourg for the 27th edition of the Mondial des Vins Blancs. As the only competition in the world entirely dedicated to the diversity of white wines, the event is once again sponsored by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) and is a member of VINOFED.

An Exceptional Jury with a New Chinese Judge

Among the 60 international expert judges from 22 countries, one figure stands out: Jeanne Peixian, a Sino-French journalist specializing in wine, joins the jury of this prestigious competition. Originally from Sichuan, Jeanne Peixian has built a strong reputation in the wine world with her 13 years of experience as an oenologist, sommelier, wine merchant, and tasting judge. Her sharp writing and expertise in international wine and spirits news make her an essential reference in the sector.

Jeanne Peixian is no stranger to the Mondial des Vins Blancs. She has been part of the exclusive circle of international expert jurors for two years. Her presence this year further acknowledges her expertise and reinforces the international dimension of the competition.

Highlighting Indigenous Grape Varieties

At the same time, this 27th edition puts a strong emphasis on indigenous grape varieties. Aware of the impact of climate change and the need to preserve viticultural biodiversity, the organizers have decided to award a “Coup de Cœur” prize to the best wine made from an indigenous white grape variety. This initiative is expected to resonate particularly in Italy, Spain, Greece, and other countries where these historic varieties play a central role in the local wine identity.

A Competition Adapting to Market Trends

Always attentive to trends, the Mondial des Vins Blancs continues to expand its competition scope. For the first time this year, de-alcoholized and partially de-alcoholized white wines will be eligible to compete, responding to the growing demand from consumers.

Moreover, in response to the increasing popularity of sparkling wines, the competition will now award two VINOFED PRIZES: one for the best still dry wine and another for the best brut sparkling wine.

Global Recognition for Wine Estates

With confirmed participation from producers across 14 countries and 4 continents, the Mondial des Vins Blancs is more than ever an essential event for wineries looking to gain international exposure. The listing of medal-winning wines on the Wine-Searcher platform and extensive media coverage provide unprecedented visibility for the winners.
