(Mar 16, 2021, Shanghai) – Chinese electric car upstart NIO reached a deal with the Shanghai Wine Trade Center in January that will delight its oenophile customers.

The cooperation gives NIO access to premier labels at over 3,000 international wineries in the Shanghai Wine Trade Center’s network. Names include Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Chateau Margaux, and wines from iconic regions like Bordeaux, Veneto, and Xinjiang.

In tandem, NIO has launched a wine app offering a wide range of wines to its members with a special discount, including 2015 vintage red wine from Chateau Lafite Rothschild and 2015 vintage red wine from Chateau Lafite Rothschild.  Many wines are immediately sold out because of the great price discount.

The Shanghai Wine Trade Center has further supported NIO’s wine initiative by guiding the recruitment of a team of sommeliers each of which holds a WSET Level 3 or higher qualification. Members of this team of wine professionals assist in wine selection for the app and have at least a decade’s experience in the wine sector. Many have judged at international competitions.  What’s more, NIO established its own wine index to evaluate the price vs quality for the members.

In addition to its wine selections, NIO offers several parallel lifestyle projects aimed at enhancing customer experience and boosting brand loyalty. These encompass fashion, luggage, home décor, electronics, and food.
