A wine event showcasing top-notch Chilean wines is coming to two major cities in China this month.
Wines of Chile will be hosting Evolution 92+, an event that will exclusively highlight a diverse range of Chilean wines priced above $60 FOB and with over 92 points based on various point systems such as Wine Spectator and Decanter.
A total of 45 wineries are expected to come and set up their booths on 5 November at The Langham, Shenzhen, and on 8 November at the Bvlgari Hotel in Shanghai.
In both cities, a master class will be held for 150 attendees, including top wine importers, distributors, and retailers. It will feature presentations by Masters of Wine Fongyee Walker and Julien Boulard Master Sommelier Lu Yang.
Also, a Walk Around Tasting session for around 500 wine entrepreneurs and enthusiasts will be happening in both locations. To cap off the two-day affair, an after-party celebration will take place in Shanghai.
Chile, the second biggest wine exporter to China, increased its year-on-year wine exportation to the country by more than half to a value of US$250.8 million in the three quarters ended September.
There is also a growing premiumization trend in China where imported wines valued at $60 per bottle and above have increased in number since 2013.
